Saw them live in a pub in Abbey Wood, SE London. Can't remember the name, but I was quite shocked at how small the venue was. This would have been about 1971 when SPLIT was out. Great gig and I bought some of their records

Ah shame.
He really was a lovely bloke.
I was in a band who supported them a fair few years ago and he made a point of coming over to us to say that he loved our set.
The Groundhogs were bloody superb that night too.
